Ceremony

Our ceremony was held in the eastern room of the Skyline Level of the Space Needle. Upon entering, our guests were welcomed with the classical music provided by Windstrings, and were offered a view of the Seattle skyline from over 200 feet in the air.

As the ceremony began, the skies opened up outside. Reverend Amanda Aikman led the event, and we even received what we're considering a "heavenly blessing" when, during a moment of silence, thunder clapped for the only time that evening. In all, it was a charming, emotional ceremony, and a magical night that neither Mary nor I will ever forget.

Paul and Mary at the Altar
The Gardens at Seattle Center
Because we wanted to enjoy the evening with our friends and family, our photographer, Tara Middlewood, suggested that we shoot photos before the ceremony. Thus, with sporadic Seattle rain and even a moment of sunlight, we darted around the grounds of Seattle Center and the EMP with our family and wedding party to take pictures. Tara was a joy to work with, and captured Paul's first reaction to Mary in her dress with her "approach from behind" shots, seen in sequence in the photo gallery.
